Losing Those Stubborn Pounds...
Many people sit in front of the TV and watch weight loss programs, hoping to find motivation. They hope that someone will finally have a story that speaks to them and energizes their desire to loss the weight they know they need to.. Don`t be that person. Instead be the person that takes these tips and ideas, and runs all the way to the finish line.
Craving french fries? Why not make your own sweet potato fries to help satisfy your desire? If you bake them with some Cajun spices you'll be reducing the fat found in fried potatoes and also getting a more flavorful food. If you feel the need to dip them, try mustard. It is a low-sugar alternative to ketchup.
To help you eat the proper portion sizes, try getting rid of your big dinner plates. Use smaller salad plates for your meals instead. Your eyes can often be bigger than your stomach, and if you load a big dinner plate with food, you will most likely eat it all, even if you are over full. Where as the amount of food you put on a smaller plate will probably be more than enough to fulfill your appetite and leave you filling full.
If you want to effortlessly start eating healthier, here is a trick that will help. Minimize the amount of dressings you use on your salad. Many nutritionists recommend dipping your fork in a separate container of dressing and then picking up a bite of salad. By doing this, you will still get the delicious taste of the dressing, without pouring it all over the salad. You can still enjoy your salad without having to sacrifice the overall healthiness of salads.
In order to lose weight, try eating 6-8 small meals per day. Eating small meals every 2-3 hours will help to increase your metabolism and prevent your body from storing fat. By eating less frequently and skipping meals, you actually cause your body to hold on to fat and, as a result, make it more difficult to lose weight.
Taking before and after pictures is a great way to track your weight loss progress and boost your motivation. By realizing what you looked like on day one of your quest and then seeing the progress you have made a month, two months, six months or a year later, you will be even more motivated to continue eating healthy and stick with it.
Watching the TV will never give you the results you need, nor will it be the right spark for your journey. The spark you need, is inside of you. Turn off the TV and create your own story.
