Cut Pounds Off Your Body...
Everyone wants to lose weight, but unfortunately it doesn't happen overnight.
Remember, you didn`t gain the weight over night, so you shouldn`t expect to
lose it over night either.
Losing weight takes an investment of your time and energy.
There are many effective approaches you can take to dropping those pounds,
and educating yourself on different ways to do so, may be helpful in your endeavor
of losing weight. Here are some things to keep in mind.
When attending a party, grab a low calorie drink, like seltzer water and fruit juice,
as soon as you arrive and sip it slowly. This way you are less likely to fill up on high
calorie cocktails. Keeping your hands busy, can help keep you from sampling the
snacks as well.
Another way to lose weight, is to reconsider how you cook your food.
Frying foods is very unhealthy, whereas baking food is much better for you.
The next time you decide you want chicken, try baking it instead of frying it.
Just this one small change, can make a big change.
When you are trying to lose weight, it is best to only weigh yourself once a week.
If you obsess too much with the scale, you could spoil your efforts. Your weight can
go up and down from one day to the next, or even between morning and night due to
your salt and even water intake. Instead of focusing on your weight, focus on your
measurements, or how your clothes fit.
Whether you are just trying to lose weight, or trying to bulk up as well, you need to
add strength training to your workouts. Just doing cardio workouts like running, walking,
or swimming aren't enough. Strength training helps you build up more muscle and burn
more calories at a resting rate, as well as burning more calories during the workout.
Most people's weight loss tends to come in stages.
This means that if you hit a plateau, and you just can`t seem to lose any more weight,
you shouldn't worry. This is completely natural and should be expected. Just keep
working at it and eventually the weight will start coming off again.
If you feel hungry between your meals, don`t give in and have a snack. Try drinking a
glass of water instead, to help curb your appetite. One of the most common mistakes
people make when trying to lose weight, is confusing thirst for hunger. Quite often when
you feel hungry, your body is actually trying to signal that it is thirsty instead.
The diets that work best are the diets that are properly balanced. That means you need
to eat right, reduce your calories and work in the right amount of exercise. You should
never have to starve yourself or pedal away on the exercise bike until you get dizzy.
A sensible diet and an active lifestyle, can shed those pounds.
Stay away from fried foods if you are serious about losing weight. Instead of frying your
food, try baking, roasting, braising, or steaming your food, to make delicious meals that
are good for you as well. You will soon find that you won't crave fried foods as much.
Before leaving your home, even if you are going out to dinner, have a small bite to eat.
You don't want to eat while you are out with others or while on the go, as you will find
that you have a much bigger appetite and because you are with others and having a
good time, you may not even realize how much you are eating.
To help you eat the proper portions, try getting rid of your big dinner plates.
Use smaller salad plates for your meals instead. I`m sure you have heard the old saying,
"Your eyes are bigger than your stomach," well quite often that is true and people tend
to eat more than they really want or need to. Using a smaller plate can help by starting
with less to begin with.
Remember, you didn`t gain the weight over night, and losing weight doesn't happen
overnight either, but you can take small steps every day towards your goal. Educating
yourself is always the key to finding a weight loss plan that works for you and these tips
were designed to help you get started and stay motivated.
